Det er godt å prise Deg, Herre, og lovsynge Ditt navn. Du er Den høyeste. Det er godt å forkynne om Din godhet om morgenen, og om Din trofasthet hver natt, til rolig strengemusikk.

For Du, Herre, har gledet meg ved Ditt skaperverk. Jeg vil juble over det Du har gjort med Dine hender. Herre, hvor stort er det Du gjør! Dine tanker er ufattelig dype.

Et ufornuftig menneske forstår det ikke. De som lever uten Deg, er som spirende gress, de blomstrer for en liten tid. Fordi de velger å leve i synd, skal de ødelegges for evig.

Men Du, Herre, er for evig opphøyd. For Dine fiender skal gå fortapt. Alle som gjør synd, skal spres utover. Men Du har gitt meg styrke som en villokse. Jeg er velsignet.

Jeg ser ned på mine fiender, og jeg blir ikke urolig når jeg hører at fienden er ute etter meg. Som palmer vokser de rettferdige opp, de blir høye som sedrer på Libanon. I Herrens hus har de sine røtter, og blomstrer i Guds nærhet.

Ennå i høy alder skal de bære frukt. De skal være kraftige og frodige. På den måten forkynner de Herrens rettferdighet. Han er min klippe, og i Ham finnes det ikke noe urettferdighet.
