Vær meg nådig, Gud, vær meg nådig! Jeg søker beskyttelse hos Deg. Jeg vil gjemme meg under Dinevinger inntil faren er over. Jeg vil rope til Deg, Gud, Du som er Den høyeste. Gud vil fullføre de planene Han har for meg. Han skal sende hjelp fra Himmelen og redde meg. Den som vil gripe meg, blir straffet av Ham. Gud skal gi meg sin nåde og sin sannhet.

Min sjel er blant fiender. Med sine skarpe ord er de skumle som løver. Deres ord er som piler og tungen som et skarpt sverd. De ønsker å gjøre ende på meg. Men Du skal opphøyes, Gud. Du er høyere enn himlene! Måtte Din herlighet dekke jorden! Mine fiender la ut et garn for å fange meg, og jeg er nedtrykt. De gravde en felle for meg, men de falt selv i den.

Så jeg kjenner meg trygg, Gud. Mitt hjerte er trygt, derfor vil jeg spille og synge for å ære Deg!. Alt i meg skal stå opp og spille for Deg. Mens solen går opp, vil jeg synge for Deg! Jeg vil prise Deg, Herre, og lovsynge Deg blant andre folkeslag.

For Din godhet er stor, og den når opp til himlene. Din trofasthet når opp til skyene. Derfor skal Du opphøyes, Gud, opp over himlene! Måtte Din herlighet dekke jorden!
