Op daardie dag sal sewe vroue een man vasgryp en sê: “Ons eie brood sal ons eet en ons eie klere sal ons dra, laat jou naam net oor ons genoem word; neem ons bespotting weg!”

Op daardie dag sal die loot van die Here pragtig en luisterryk wees; en die opbrengs van die land sal die trots en roem wees van dié Israeliete wat ontkom het.

Dié wat oorbly in Sion, wat agtergelaat word in Jerusalem, sal heilig genoem word, almal wat vir die lewe opgeskryf is in Jerusalem.

As my Heer die vuilheid van die vroue van Sion afgewas, en die bloedskuld van Jerusalem uit haar midde weggespoel het, deur 'n gees wat oordeel en 'n gees wat wegvee,

sal die Here oor die hele gebied van die berg Sion en oor die byeenkoms by Sion bedags 'n wolk skep, en snags rook en die glans van vuurvlamme. Ja, oor alles wat luisterryk is, sal dit 'n gewelf vorm.

'n Takskerm sal dit bedags wees as skaduwee teen die hitte, en 'n skuilplek en beskutting teen stortbuie en reën.
