Van Dawid. Loof die Here, o my siel, ja, alles wat in my is, sy heilige Naam!
2
Loof die Here, o my siel, en moenie enige van sy weldade vergeet nie –
3
Hy wat al jou sondeskuld vergewe, wat al jou siektes genees,
4
wat jou lewe vrykoop van die graf, jou kroon met troue liefde en ontferming,
5
wat jou begeerte met die goeie versadig. Soos 'n arend word jou jeug dan weer nuut.
6
Die Here handhaaf geregtigheid, die regte van almal wat verdruk word.
7
Hy het sy weë aan Moses geopenbaar, aan die Israeliete sy dade.
8
Barmhartig en genadig is die Here, geduldig en oorvloedig in troue liefde;
9
Hy beskuldig nie vir ewig nie, en bly nie vir altyd toornig nie.
10
Hy behandel ons nie ooreenkomstig ons sonde nie en vergeld ons nie ooreenkomstig ons sondeskuld nie;
11
want so hoog as wat die hemel bo die aarde is, so troon sy troue liefde uit bo dié wat vir Hom ontsag het.
12
So ver as wat die ooste verwyder is van die weste, so ver verwyder Hy ons oortredings van ons.
13
Soos 'n vader hom ontferm oor kinders, so ontferm die Here Hom oor dié wat vir Hom ontsag het;
14
want Hy, Hy weet waarvan ons gemaak is, Hy hou in gedagte dat ons maar stof is.
15
'n Mens, soos gras is sy lewensdae, soos 'n veldblom, so bloei hy.
16
As die wind oor hom waai, is hy nie meer daar nie en sy plek ken hom nie meer nie.
17
Maar die troue liefde van die Here is van altyd af en vir ewig oor hulle wat vir Hom ontsag het, en sy geregtigheid geld vir die kinders se kinders,
18
vir hulle wat sy verbond hou, en vir hulle wat sy opdragte in gedagte hou, om dit uit te voer.
19
Die Here het in die hemel sy troon gevestig, en sy heerskappy strek oor alles.
20
Prys die Here, julle wat sy boodskappers is, sterk helde wat sy woord uitvoer deur sy bevel te gehoorsaam.
21
Loof die Here, al sy hemelse magte, sy dienaars wat sy wil volbring.
22
Loof die Here, alles wat Hy gemaak het, op al die plekke waar Hy heers! Loof die Here, o my siel!
