Ek het die Here lief, want Hy luister na my stem, my smeekgebed;
2
ja, Hy draai sy oor na my, en solank ek leef, sal ek Hom aanroep.
3
Bande van die dood het my omsluit; angste van die •doderyk het my oorval; benoudheid en bekommernis het ek ervaar.
4
Toe het ek die Naam van die Here bly aanroep: “Ag, Here, red tog my lewe!”
5
Genadig is die Here en regverdig; ons God is barmhartig.
6
Die Here beskerm onkundiges; ek is nietig, maar Hy het my verlos.
7
Kom weer tot rus, my •siel, want die Here het goed gedoen aan jou.
8
Ja, U het my lewe van die dood gered, my oë van trane, my voete van struikeling.
9
Ek mag leef in die teenwoordigheid van die Here, in die land van die lewendes.
10
Ek het bly glo, selfs toe ek gesê het: “Ek is swaar beproef.”
11
Ek is een wat in my angstigheid gesê het: “Alle mense is leuenaars.”
12
Hoe kan ek die Here vergoed vir al sy goeie dade aan my?
13
Die beker van verlossing sal ek oplig en die Naam van die Here aanroep.
14
My geloftes aan die Here sal ek betaal, daar voor sy hele volk.
15
In die oë van die Here is die dood van sy troue volgelinge 'n duur verlies.
16
Ag, Here, omdat ek u dienskneg is – ja, ek is u dienskneg, die seun van u diensmeisie – het U my boeie losgemaak.
17
Aan U sal ek •dankoffers bring en die Naam van die Here aanroep.
18
My geloftes aan die Here sal ek betaal, daar voor sy hele volk,
19
in die voorhowe van die huis van die Here, in jou midde, Jerusalem. Halleluja!
