voor Efraim, Benjamin en Manasse! Laat u mag ontwaak en kom tot ons redding.

O God, herstel ons; laat skyn die lig van u aangesig, sodat ons verlos kan word.

Here, God, Heerser oor alle magte, hoe lank gaan u woede nog smeul teen die gebed van u volk?
6
U het hulle brood van trane laat eet; U het hulle trane in oormaat laat drink.
7
U het ons 'n bron van stryd gemaak vir ons bure, ons vyande dryf met ons die spot.
8
O God, Heerser oor alle magte, herstel ons; laat skyn die lig van u aangesig, sodat ons verlos kan word.
9
U het in Egipte 'n wingerdstok uitgetrek; U het nasies verdryf en hom geplant.
10
U het voor hom skoongemaak; hy het wortel geskiet en die land vol gerank.

Berge is deur sy skadu oordek, die magtige seders deur sy takke.

Hy het sy ranke uitgestoot tot by die see, en sy lote tot by die Rivier.

die steggie wat u regterhand geplant het, die spruit wat U vir Uself grootgemaak het.

Hy is met vuur verbrand, afgekap. Laat hulle vergaan weens die bedreiging van u teenwoordigheid.

Hou tog u hand oor die man aan u regterkant, oor die mensekind wat U vir Uself grootgemaak het.
19
Ons sal nie van U wyk nie. Maak ons lewend! Net ú Naam sal ons aanroep.
