Halleluja! Ja, dit is goed om ons God te besing, ja, dit is aangenaam – 'n loflied is gepas.
2
Die Here herbou Jerusalem, die verstrooides van Israel maak Hy bymekaar.
3
Dit is Hy wat dié met gebroke harte genees, wat hulle wonde verbind;
4
wat die getal van die sterre bepaal, aan hulle almal name gee.
5
Ons Heer is groot en geweldig sterk; aan sy insig is daar geen grens nie.
6
Die Here help die verdruktes op; goddeloses verneder Hy tot in die grond.
7
Sing vir die Here 'n danklied; besing ons God met begeleiding van liere,
8
vir Hom wat die hemel bedek met wolke, wat vir die aarde reën gereedmaak, gras op die berge laat groei,
9
wat vir die diere hulle kos gee, vir die jong kraaie wat krys.
10
Dit is nie die krag van 'n perd, waaroor Hy Hom verheug nie, nie die bene van 'n man, waarin Hy vreugde vind nie.
11
Die Here vind vreugde in hulle wat vir Hom ontsag het, wat hulle hoop vestig op sy troue liefde.
12
Roem die Here, Jerusalem, loof jou God, Sion,
13
want Hy het die sluitbalke van jou poorte sterk gemaak, Hy het jou kinders in jou geseën,
14
Hy wat jou grense veilig stel. Met die vetste koring versadig Hy jou,
15
Hy wat sy bevel na die aarde stuur – sy woord beweeg vinnig –
16
Hy wat sneeu gee soos wol, ysryp soos as uitstrooi,
17
wat sy ys soos krummels afgooi. Wie kan voor sy koue standhou?
18
Hy stuur sy woord en laat dit smelt; Hy laat sy wind waai en water begin vloei.
19
Hy maak sy woorde aan Jakob bekend, sy vaste voorskrifte en wette aan Israel.
20
Hy het nie so opgetree teenoor enige ander nasie nie; sy wette ken hulle nie. Halleluja!
