Jubel tot eer van God, ons krag, juig tot eer van die God van Jakob.
3
Begin die begeleiding, speel op tamboeryne, op lieflike liere en op harpe.
4
Blaas •ramshorings met nuwemaan, met volmaan vir ons feesdag;
5
want dit is 'n vaste instelling vir Israel, 'n beslissing van die God van Jakob.

As 'n bepaling het Hy dit neergelê vir Josef toe Hy uitgetrek het teen Egipteland. In 'n taal wat ek nie ken nie, hoor ek:

“Ek het die las van sy skouer verwyder; sy hande is vry van die dramandjie.
8
Toe daar nood was, het jy geroep, en Ek het jou uitgered. Ek het jou geantwoord uit die beskutting van die donderwolk; Ek het jou getoets by die water van Meriba.
9
“Luister, my volk, Ek wil jou waarsku, Israel; as jy maar net na My sal luister:
10
Daar mag by jou nie 'n vreemde god wees nie, jy mag nie voor 'n uitlandse god in aanbidding buig nie.
11
Ek, die Here, is jou God wat jou uit Egipteland laat optrek het. Maak jou mond wyd oop, sodat Ek dit kan vul.
12
“Maar my volk het nie na My geluister nie, Israel wou My nie gehoorsaam nie.
13
Ek het hulle aan die verstoktheid van hulle harte oorgelaat; hulle het hulle eie raad gevolg.
14
As my volk maar net na My wou luister, as Israel maar my paaie wou volg!
15
Ek sou hulle vyande summier verneder, teen hulle teenstanders sou Ek my hand draai.”
16
Hulle wat die Here haat, sal voor Hom onderdanigheid veins; dit is hulle lot vir altyd.
17
Maar Hy sal Israel met die beste koring voed. “Uit 'n rots sal Ek jou met heuning versadig.”
