Mascil Ásáf. Cad fáth ar chaith tú uait go brách sinn, a Dhia? Cad fáth foréigean feirge ort in aghaidh chaoirigh do pháirce? Salm 73

Cuimhnigh ar do chomhthionól a bhunaigh tú fadó; ar an gcine a cheannaigh tú mar oidhreacht duit féin, ar Shliabh Shíón mar a ndearna tú áras do chónaithe.
3
Tabhair d' aghaidh ar na fothracha a scriosadh ar fad, ar an dochar a rinne an namhaid san ionad naofa.
4
Tá do naimhde ag búiríl i lár do thionóil agus chuir siad a meirgí mar chraobh choscair in airde.
5
Is cosúil iad le coillteoirí ag beartú a mbiailí;
6
tuairgníonn siad le tuanna adhmad snoite na ndoirse agus déanann siad sceanairt díobh le casúir is le ceapoird.
7
Chuir siad do shanctóir faoi bharr dearglasrach. Thruailligh siad agus leag d' áit chónaithe go húir.
8
Dúirt siad ina gcroí istigh: «Scriosaimis ar fad iad; cuirimis trí thine a bhfuil de scrínte Dé sa tír.»
9
Ní fheicimid ár gcomharthaí, níl fáidh ann feasta ná níl aon neach inár measc arb eol dó cá fhad.
10
Cá fhad a bheidh an t-eascara go tarcaisneach, a Dhia; an dtabharfaidh an namhaid masla do d' ainm go brách?
11
Cad fáth a n-iompaíonn tú do lámh uainn, a Thiarna? Cad fáth a bhfolaíonn tú do dheaslámh i do bhrollach?
12
Is é Dia mo Rí leis na cianta cairbreacha; an té a dhéanann slánú i lár an talaimh.
13
Is tú a scoilt an mhuir le do chumhacht agus a bhris ina mbloghanna cinn na n-arrachtach san uisce.
14
Is tú a rinne conamar de chinn an Leiviatan gur thug tú ina bhia é do ainmhithe allta an fhásaigh.
15
Is tú a chuir foinsí agus caisí ag brúchtaíl; is tú a dhiúg na haibhneacha tuilte.
16
Is leat an lá agus is leat an oíche; is tú a shocraigh an ghrian is an ghealach.
17
Is tú a chinn críocha uile na cruinne; is tú a dhealbhaigh an samhradh is an geimhreadh.
18
Cuimhnigh, a Thiarna, ar an namhaid fonóideach; tugann pobal gan chiall tarcaisne do d' ainm.
19
Ná tabhair anam do choilm don bhadhbh, a Thiarna; ná déan dearmad go deo ar anam na mbocht.
20
Tabhair aire do do chonradh óir is lomlán d' éigean uaimheanna agus diamhra uile na tíre.
21
Ná lig don té faoi leatrom filleadh faoi náire; go raibh an dealbh agus an daibhir ag tabhairt moladh do d' ainm.
22
Éirigh, a Dhia, agus tagair do chúis; cuimhnigh mar a mhaslaíonn an t-éagráifeach gach lá thú.
23
Ná tabhair i ndíchuimhne callán do naimhde agus glamaíl d' eascairde ag méadú de shíor.
