Salmo da coleção de Salomão. Ó Deus, concede ao rei a tua retidão e ao príncipe a tua justiça,

para que julgue o teu povo com justiça e trate os humildes com retidão.

Que as montanhas e as colinas tragam ao povo justiça e paz.

Que o rei proteja os humildes do povo; que ele ajude os necessitados e esmague os opressores!

Que todos te adorem, enquanto o Sol brilhar; enquanto houver luar, por todo o sempre!

Que o rei seja como a chuva sobre os campos, como os aguaceiros que regam a terra!

Que a paz e a justiça floresçam nos seus dias, e que durem enquanto a Lua brilhar no céu!

Que ele domine de um mar ao outro, do grande rio ao extremo da terra.

Os povos do deserto curvar-se-ão diante dele; os seus inimigos atirar-se-ão por terra!

Os reis de Társis e das ilhas oferecerão tributos; os reis de Sabá e de Seba mandarão presentes!

Todos os reis se curvarão diante dele; todas as nações o servirão!

Ele livrará o pobre que o invoca e o necessitado, que não tem quem o ajude.

Terá compaixão dos humildes e salvará a vida aos necessitados.

Há de livrá-los da opressão e da violência, pois as suas vidas são preciosas para ele.

Viva o rei! Que lhe deem ouro de Sabá! Continuamente se pedirá por ele, todos os dias se pedirá a Deus que o abençoe.

Que o país se cubra com abundância de trigo, ondulando sobre as colinas, que ele produza e floresça como o Líbano e brotem as espigas como a erva no campo!

Que o nome do rei permaneça para sempre; que a sua fama dure enquanto o Sol brilhar! Que por meio dele se sintam abençoadas e o felicitem todas as nações!
