Fjala e Zotit drejtuar profetit Jeremi për filistinët, para se faraoni të sulmonte Gazën.

Kështu thotë Zoti: «Ja, po fryhen ujërat prej veriut, po bëhen përrua rrëmbyes, po e përmbytin tokën me gjithçka e mbush, qytetin e banorët e tij. Gjithkush bërtet, çdo banor i dheut ulërin.

Prej tingullit të përpushjes së patkonjve të hamshorëve, prej sokëllimës së karrocave, prej vringëllimës së rrotave, etërit nuk kthehen kah bijtë, se u flashken duart,

se erdhi dita për t'i shkatërruar të gjithë filistinët, për të zhbirë nga Tiri e Sidoni çdo ndihmëtar të mbetur, se Zoti po i shkatërron filistinët, tepricën e bregut të Kaftorit.

Gazës i ka rënë shoga, Ashkeloni ka rënë në heshtje. O tepricë e luginës së tyre, deri kur do të çirreni?

Ah, shpatë e Zotit, edhe sa kohë të duhet që të pushosh? Hyr në mill, ndalu e pusho!
7
Si mund të pushojë, kur Zoti e ka urdhëruar? Kundër Ashkelonit e kundër bregdetit, atje e ka caktuar».
