Kwa mwimbishaji, wa kuimba kama wimbo wa wagemaji. Wa Asafu.

Mpigieni Mungu shangwe, maana ni nguvu yetu! Mungu wa Yakobo mpigieni vigelegele!

mwimbieni nyimbo za kumshukuru na kupiga patu! Pigeni nayo mazeze yaliayo vizuri pamoja na mapango!

Pigeni mabaragumu, mwezi ukiandama! Hata penye mbalamwezi! Ndio sikukuu yetu.

Kwani Isiraeli alivyoagizwa, ndivyo hivyo, navyo ndivyo vimpasavyo Mungu wa Yakobo;

ndio ushuhuda, aliouweka kwao wa Yosefu, alipotokea katika nchi ya Misri, aipige. Hapo ndipo, niliposikia msemo, niliokuwa sijaujua:

Huo mzigo wa begani kwake nimeuondoa, mikono yake ikaondoka kwenye makapu ya kuchukulia watu.

Uliponililia katika masongano, nimekuponya, nikakuitikia na kujificha katika mawingu yenye ngurumo, kwenye Maji ya Magomvi nikakujaribu.

Sikilizeni, mlio wa ukoo wangu, niwaonye! Isiraeli, sharti unisikie!
10
Kwako kusiwe tena na mungu mgeni! Wala usitambikie mungu wa nchi nyingine!
11
Mungu wako, aliyekutoa katika nchi ya Misri ni mimi Bwana; kiasame kinywa chako, nikijaze!
12
Lakini walio ukoo wangu hawakuisikia hiyo sauti yangu, naye Isiraeli hakutaka kunifuata mimi.
13
Nikawaacha, waufuate ugumu wao wa mioyo yao, wajiendee na kuyafanya mashauri yao.
14
Kama wangekuwa ukoo wangu, wangenisikia, kama wangekuwa Waisiraeli, wangezishika njia zangu,
15
nami ningewainamisha upesi adui zao, mkono wangu ungewarudia wao waliowasonga.
16
Wachukivu wake Bwana wangemnyenyekea, lakini wao siku zao zingekuwa za kale na kale.
17
Ningewapa ngano zilizo nzuri kupita zote, wazile zizo, ningewapa hata asali za miambani, wazile, mpaka washibe.
