Psaume de David. Seigneur, je t'appelle, viens vite à mon aide, entends mon appel quand je m'adresse à toi!

Que ma prière monte tout droit vers toi, comme la fumée de l'encens, que mes mains levées soient comme l'offrande du soir.

Seigneur, monte la garde devant ma bouche, surveille la porte de mes lèvres.

Empêche-moi de me laisser aller à dire une parole mauvaise, à faire un geste méchant, comme font ceux qui causent le malheur des autres. Préserve-moi de manger de ce pain-là.

Si une personne juste me reprend ou me corrige, c'est un geste d'amitié que je ne veux pas refuser. Mais les méfaits des méchants ne feront pas taire ma prière.

Quand leurs juges seront jetés contre un rocher, alors ils entendront que mes paroles sont agréables.

Comme une fente s'ouvre dans la terre, le monde des morts ouvrira sa gueule pour avaler leurs ossements dispersés.

Oui, mes yeux sont tournés vers toi, Seigneur mon Dieu, je trouve refuge en toi. Garde-moi en vie!

Préserve-moi du piège qu'on me tend, des embûches de ces personnes malfaisantes.

Que ces méchants tombent dans leur propre piège, tandis que moi, j'y échapperai!
