Dieu qui fais justice, Seigneur, Dieu qui fais justice, manifeste-toi!

Juge de la terre, oppose-toi aux arrogants, retourne contre eux le mal qu'ils ont commis.

Seigneur, jusqu'à quand les méchants triompheront-ils? Oui, jusqu'à quand?
4
Ils disent des grossièretés et des insolences, ils font les fanfarons, tous ceux qui causent le malheur des autres.
5
Ils oppriment ton peuple, Seigneur, ils maltraitent ceux qui t'appartiennent.
6
Ils tuent froidement la veuve et l'immigré, ils assassinent les orphelins.
7
Et ils ajoutent: « Le Seigneur ne voit rien, le Dieu de Jacob n'y fait pas attention. »
8
Comprenez, gens vraiment stupides! Insensés, quand vous mettrez-vous à réfléchir?
9
Le Seigneur, qui a formé chaque oreille, est-il incapable d'entendre? Lui qui a façonné l'œil, est-il incapable de voir?
10
Lui qui instruit les peuples, est-il incapable de punir? Lui qui apprend aux humains à comprendre,

lui, le Seigneur, connaît les projets des humains: ce n'est que du vent!
12
Seigneur, heureux celui que tu instruis et que tu éduques par ton enseignement!
13
Il restera calme au jour du malheur, tandis qu'un piège se creuse pour les méchants.
14
Non, le Seigneur ne rejette pas son peuple, il n'abandonne pas ceux qui lui appartiennent.
15
Oui, il y aura de nouveau une justice, et tous ceux qui ont le cœur droit l'approuveront.
16
Qui me défendra contre ces gens malfaisants? Qui prendra mon parti contre ces fauteurs de malheur?
17
Si le Seigneur ne m'avait pas secouru, je ne serais pas loin du pays du silence.
18
Chaque fois que je dis: « Je ne tiens plus debout! » ta bonté, Seigneur, me soutient.
19
Et quand j'ai le cœur surchargé de soucis, tu me consoles, tu me rends la joie.
20
Seraient-ils tes complices ces juges criminels, qui créent le malheur au mépris des lois?
21
Ils s'en prennent à celui qui est juste, ils condamnent la personne innocente.
22
Mais le Seigneur est ma forteresse, mon Dieu est le rocher où je trouve refuge.
23
Il retourne contre eux leur crime, il se sert de leur propre méchanceté pour les réduire à rien, lui, le Seigneur notre Dieu.
