Y gair yr hwn a lefarodd Jeremeia y proffwyd wrth Baruch mab Nereia, pan ysgrifenasai efe y geiriau hyn o enau Jeremeia mewn llyfr, yn y bedwaredd flwyddyn i Jehoiacim mab Joseia brenin Jwda, gan ddywedyd,

Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, DUW Israel, wrthyt ti, Baruch;

Tydi a ddywedaist, Gwae fi yn awr! canys yr ARGLWYDD a chwanegodd dristwch ar fy ngofid; myfi a ddiffygiais yn fy ochain, ac nid wyf yn cael gorffwystra.

Fel hyn y dywedi wrtho ef, Yr ARGLWYDD a ddywed fel hyn; Wele, myfi a ddistrywiaf yr hyn a adeiledais, a mi a ddiwreiddiaf yr hyn a blennais, nid amgen yr holl wlad hon.

Ac a geisi di fawredd i ti dy hun? Na chais: canys wele, myfi a ddygaf ddrwg ar bob cnawd, medd yr ARGLWYDD: ond mi a roddaf i ti dy einioes yn ysglyfaeth ym mha le bynnag yr elych di.
