('n Lied van grade.) HERE, dink aan Dawid en al sy ellende.
2
Hoe hy aan die HERE gesweer en aan die magtige God van Jakob beloof het;
3
Waarlik, ek sal nie in die tabernakel van my huis ingaan en nie op my bed klim nie;
4
Ek sal vir my oë geen slaap gee en aan my ooglede geen slaap nie,
5
Totdat ek 'n plek vir die HERE vind, 'n woning vir die magtige God van Jakob.
6
Kyk, ons het daarvan gehoor by Efrata: ons het dit in die veld van die bos gevind.
7
Ons sal in sy tente ingaan; ons sal aanbid by sy voetbank.
8
Staan op, HERE, in u rus; jy en die ark van jou sterkte.
9
Laat u priesters beklee wees met geregtigheid; en laat u heiliges jubel.
10
Ter wille van u kneg Dawid moet u die aangesig van u gesalfde nie afwend nie.
11
Die HERE het vir Dawid in waarheid gesweer; hy sal hom nie daarvan bekeer nie; Van die vrug van jou liggaam sal Ek op jou troon sit.
12
As jou kinders my verbond en my getuienis wat Ek hulle sal leer nakom, sal hulle kinders ook vir ewig op jou troon sit.
13
Want die HERE het Sion uitverkies; hy het dit as sy woning begeer.
14
Dit is my rus vir ewig: hier sal ek woon; want ek het dit begeer.
15
Ek sal haar voorsiening oorvloedig seën, haar armes met brood versadig.
16
Ek sal ook haar priesters met verlossing beklee, en haar heiliges sal jubel.
17
Daar sal Ek die horing van Dawid laat bot; Ek het 'n lamp vir my gesalfde ingestel.
18
Sy vyande sal Ek met skande beklee, maar op Hom sal sy kroon bloei.
