O HERE God, aan wie die wraak behoort; O God, aan wie die wraak behoort, toon Uself.

Verhef u, o regter van die aarde, gee 'n beloning aan die hoogmoediges.

HERE, hoe lank sal die goddelose, hoe lank sal die goddelose seëvier?
4
Hoe lank sal hulle harde dinge spreek en praat? en al die werkers van ongeregtigheid roem?
5
Hulle verbrysel U volk, HERE, en verdrukUu erfdeel.
6
Hulle maak die weduwee en die vreemdeling dood en maak die wees dood.
7
Maar hulle sê: Die HERE sal dit nie sien nie, en die God van Jakob sal dit nie aanskou nie.
8
Verstaan, julle brute mense onder die volk, en julle dwase, wanneer sal julle wys wees?
9
Sal hy wat die oor geplant het, nie hoor nie? Hy wat die oog gevorm het, sal hy nie sien nie?
10
Hy wat die heidene tugtig, sal hy nie teregwys nie? Hy wat die mens kennis leer, sal hy nie weet nie?
11
Die HERE ken die gedagtes van die mens, dat dit nietigheid is.
12
Geseënd is die man wat U tugtig, o HERE, en hom uit u wet leer;
13
sodat U hom rus kan gee van die dae van benoudheid totdat die kuil vir die goddelose gegrawe word.
14
Want die HERE sal sy volk nie verstoot nie, en Hy sal sy erfdeel nie verlaat nie.
15
Maar die reg sal tot geregtigheid terugkeer, en al die opregtes van hart sal dit volg.
16
Wie sal vir my opstaan teen die kwaaddoeners? of wie sal vir my opstaan teen die werkers van ongeregtigheid?
17
As die HERE my nie help nie, het my siel amper in stilte gebly.
18
Toe Ek sê: My voet gly; U goedertierenheid, o HERE, het my opgehou.
19
In die veelheid van my gedagtes in my verlustig U vertroostinge my siel.
20
Sal die troon van ongeregtigheid gemeenskap met jou hê wat onheil deur 'n wet beraam?
21
Hulle vergader teen die siel van die regverdiges en veroordeel die onskuldige bloed.
22
Maar die HERE is my beskutting; en my God is die rots van my toevlug.
23
En Hy sal hulle eie ongeregtigheid oor hulle bring en hulle in hulle eie boosheid uitroei; ja, die HERE onse God sal hulle uitroei.
