(Aan die musiekleier op Sosánnim, vir die seuns van Korag, Masgil, 'n Lied van liefde.) My hart is 'n goeie saak: ek spreek van die dinge wat ek gemaak het aangaande die koning: my tong is die pen van 'n gereed skrywer.

U is mooier as die mensekinders; genade is op U lippe uitgestort; daarom het God U vir ewig geseën.
3
Gord U swaard op U heup, o Magtige, met U heerlikheid en U majesteit.
4
En ry voorspoedig in u majesteit ter wille van waarheid en sagmoedigheid en geregtigheid; en jou regterhand sal jou verskriklike dinge leer.
5
U pyle is skerp in die hart van die koning se vyande; waardeur die volk onder jou val.
6
U troon, o God, is vir ewig en altyd; die septer van U koninkryk is 'n regte septer.
7
U het geregtigheid lief en haat goddeloosheid; daarom het God, U God, U gesalf met vreugde-olie bo U metgeselle.
8
Al jou klere ruik na mirre en aalwyne en kassie, uit die ivoorpaleise, waardeur hulle jou bly gemaak het.
9
Koningsdogters was onder u eerbare vroue; aan U regterhand het die koningin in goud van Ofir gestaan.
10
Luister, o dogter, en let op en neig jou oor; vergeet ook U volk en U vader se huis;
11
So sal die koning jou skoonheid baie begeer, want Hy is jou HERE; en aanbid hom.
12
En die dogter van Tirus sal daar wees met 'n geskenk; selfs die rykes onder die volke sal U guns smeek.
13
Die koning se dogter is van binne al heerlik: haar klere is van smeegoud.
14
Sy sal na die koning gebring word in naaldwerkklere; die maagde, haar metgeselle wat haar volg, sal na jou gebring word.
15
Met blydskap en blydskap sal hulle gebring word; hulle sal in die koning se paleis ingaan.
16
In die plek van jou vaders sal jou kinders wees, wat jy as vorste oor die hele aarde kan aanstel.
17
Ek sal aan U Naam gedenk word van geslag tot geslag; daarom sal die volke U loof vir ewig en altyd.
