('n Psalm van Dawid.) Hoor my gebed, HERE, luister na my smekinge; verhoor my in u trou en in u geregtigheid.

En tree nie in die gereg met u kneg nie, want voor u oë sal geen mens wat lewe, geregverdig word nie.

Want die vyand het my siel vervolg; Hy het my lewe teen die grond geslaan; Hy het my in die duisternis laat woon soos dié wat lankal dood is.
4
Daarom is my gees oorweldig in my binneste; my hart in my is woes.
5
Ek dink aan die dae van ouds; Ek peins oor al u werke; Ek peins oor die werk van u hande.
6
Ek strek my hande na jou uit; my siel dors na jou soos 'n dorsland. Sela.
7
Hoor my gou, HERE, my gees beswyk; verberg u aangesig nie vir my nie, dat ek nie word soos die wat in die kuil neerdaal nie.
8
Laat my in die môre u goedertierenheid hoor; want op U vertrou ek; laat my die weg ken wat ek moet bewandel; want Ek hef my siel tot U op.
9
Verlos my, HERE, van my vyande; ek vlug na U om my te verberg.
10
Leer my om u wil te doen; want U is my God. U gees is goed; lei my na die land van opregtheid.
11
Maak my bespoedig, HERE, ter wille van U Naam;
12
En deur U goedertierenheid moet U my vyande uitroei en almal vernietig wat my siel verdruk, want ek is U kneg.
