Want kyk, jou vyande maak rumoer, en die wat jou haat, het die hoof opgehef.

Hulle het listige raad gehou teen u volk en beraadslaag teen u verborges.
4
Hulle het gesê: Kom, laat ons hulle uitroei om 'n nasie te wees; sodat die naam van Israel nie meer in gedagtenis mag wees nie.

Want hulle het met een instemming beraadslaag: hulle is bondgenote teen jou;

die hutte van Edom en die Ismaeliete; van Moab en die Hagarenes;

Gebal en Ammon en Amalek; die Filistyne met die inwoners van Tirus;

Assur is ook by hulle aangesluit: hulle het die kinders van Lot gehol. Sela.

Soos 'n vuur 'n hout verbrand en soos 'n vlam die berge aan die brand steek;

Vervolg hulle dan met u storm, en maak hulle verskrik met u storm.
16
Vul hulle aangesig met skaamte; dat hulle U Naam kan soek, HERE.
17
Laat hulle vir ewig beskaamd en verskrik wees; ja, laat hulle beskaamd staan en omkom;
18
Sodat die mense kan weet dat U, wie se Naam alleen Jehovah is, die Allerhoogste oor die hele aarde is.
