(Aan die musiekleier, 'n Psalm van Dawid.) Welgeluksalig is hy wat ag gee op die arme: die HERE sal hom red in tyd van benoudheid.
2
Die HERE sal hom bewaar en hom in die lewe hou; en hy sal geseën word op die aarde, en jy sal hom nie oorlewer aan die wil van sy vyande nie.
3
Die HERE sal hom versterk op die bed van kwyn: U sal sy hele bed maak in sy siekte.
4
Ek het gesê: HERE, wees my genadig; genees my siel; want ek het teen jou gesondig.
5
My vyande praat kwaad van my: Wanneer sal hy sterwe en sy naam vergaan?
6
En as hy kom om my te sien, spreek hy nietigheid; as hy na die buiteland gaan, vertel hy dit.
7
Almal wat my haat, fluister saam teen my; teen my bedink hulle my onreg.
8
'n Slegte siekte, sê hulle, kleef aan hom, en nou dat hy lieg, sal hy nie meer opstaan nie.
9
Ja, my eie bekende vriend, op wie ek vertrou het, wat van my brood geëet het, het sy hakskeen teen my opgelig.
10
Maar U, HERE, wees my genadig en rig my op, dat ek hulle kan vergelde.
11
Hieraan weet ek dat U 'n welbehae in my het, omdat my vyand nie oor my triomfeer nie.
12
En wat my aangaan, U ondersteun my in my opregtheid en stel my voor U aangesig tot in ewigheid.
13
Geseënd is die HERE, die God van Israel, van ewigheid tot ewigheid. Amen, en Amen.
