(Aan die musiekleier, 'n Psalm van Dawid.) Die koning sal juig oor u sterkte, o HERE; en oor u verlossing, hoe baie sal hy hom verbly!

U het hom die begeerte van sy hart gegee en die versoek van sy lippe nie teruggehou nie. Sela.
3
Want U keer hom met die seëninge van goedheid; U sit 'n kroon van suiwer goud op sy hoof.
4
Hy het die lewe van jou gevra, en jy het dit aan hom gegee, lengte van dae tot in alle ewigheid.
5
Sy heerlikheid is groot in u verlossing; eer en majesteit het U op hom gegee.
6
Want U het hom baie geseënd gemaak tot in ewigheid; U het hom uitermate bly gemaak met u aangesig.
7
Want die koning vertrou op die HERE, en deur die goedertierenheid van die Allerhoogste sal hy nie wankel nie.
8
U hand sal al u vyande uitvind; u regterhand sal die wat u haat, uitvind.
9
Jy moet hulle maak soos 'n vuuroond in die tyd van jou toorn; die HERE sal hulle in Sy grimmigheid verslind, en die vuur sal hulle verteer.
10
Hulle vrugte sal U van die aarde af uitroei, en hulle nageslag onder die mensekinders uit.
11
Want hulle het kwaad teen jou bedoel: hulle het 'n onheilspellende plan voorgestel wat hulle nie kan uitvoer nie.
12
Daarom moet jy hulle die rug laat afkeer, as jy jou pyle op jou snare teen die aangesig van hulle gereed maak.
13
Verhef U, HERE, in U eie krag; so sal ons sing en U krag loof.
