(Aan die musiekleier, aan Jedutun, 'n Psalm van Asaf.) Ek het met my stem tot God geroep, met my stem tot God; en hy het na my gehoor.
2
Op die dag van my benoudheid het ek die HERE gesoek: my swere het in die nag geloop en nie opgehou nie; my siel het geweier om getroos te word.
3
Ek het aan God gedink, en ek was ontsteld: ek het gekla, en my gees was oorweldig. Sela.
4
U hou my oë wakker: ek is so ontsteld dat ek nie kan praat nie.
5
Ek het die dae van die ou tyd, die jare van die ou tyd, oorweeg.
6
Ek roep tot gedagtenis aan my lied in die nag: ek praat met my hart, en my gees het ywerig gesoek.
7
Sal die HERE vir ewig verstoot? en sal hy nie meer gunstig wees nie?
8
Is sy goedertierenheid vir altyd skoon weg? misluk sy belofte vir ewig?
9
Het God vergeet om genadig te wees? Het hy in toorn sy barmhartighede toegesluit? Sela.
10
En ek het gesê: Dit is my krankheid, maar ek sal dink aan die jare van die regterhand van die Allerhoogste.
11
Ek sal dink aan die werke van die HERE; sekerlik sal ek dink aan u wonders van ouds.
12
Ook sal ek oor al jou werk peins en oor jou handelinge praat.
13
U weg, o God, is in die heiligdom; wie is so 'n groot God soos ons God?
14
U is die God wat wonders doen; U het u sterkte onder die volke verkondig.
15
U het U volk, die seuns van Jakob en Josef, met U arm verlos. Sela.
16
Die waters het U gesien, o God, die waters het U gesien; hulle was bevrees; ook die dieptes was ontsteld.
17
Die wolke het water uitgegiet, die lug het 'n geluid uitgestuur; jou pyle het ook na die buiteland gegaan.
18
Die stem van jou donder was in die hemel: die weerlig het die wêreld verlig, die aarde het gebewe en gebewe.
19
U weg is in die see, en u pad in die groot waters, en u voetstappe is nie bekend nie.
20
U het u volk soos 'n kudde gelei deur die hand van Moses en Aäron.
