Hy wat in die skuilplek van die Allerhoogste woon, sal vernag in die skaduwee van die Almagtige.
2
Ek sal van die HERE sê: Hy is my toevlug en my vesting: my God; op Hom sal ek vertrou.
3
Waarlik, Hy sal jou red uit die vangnet van die voëlvanger en van die bruisende pes.
4
Hy sal jou bedek met sy vere, en onder sy vlerke sal jy vertrou; sy waarheid is jou skild en skild.
5
Jy moet nie bang wees vir die skrik in die nag nie; ook nie vir die pyl wat bedags vlieg nie;
6
ook nie vir die pes wat in duisternis wandel nie; ook nie vir die verwoesting wat op die middag verwoes nie.
7
Duisend sal aan jou sy val en tienduisend aan jou regterhand; maar dit sal nie naby jou kom nie.
8
Net met jou oë sal jy die loon van die goddelose aanskou en sien.
9
Omdat jy die HERE, wat my toevlug is, die Allerhoogste, jou woning gemaak het;
10
Geen onheil sal jou tref nie, en geen plaag sal naby jou woning kom nie.
11
Want Hy sal sy engele oor jou bevel gee om jou te bewaar op al jou weë.
12
Hulle moet jou in hul hande dra, dat jy nie jou voet teen 'n klip stamp nie.
13
Jy moet op die leeu en adder trap; die jong leeu en die draak moet jy vertrap.
14
Omdat hy My liefhet, daarom sal Ek hom red; Ek sal hom verhef, omdat hy my Naam geken het.
15
Hy sal My aanroep, en Ek sal hom antwoord: Ek sal by hom wees in benoudheid; Ek sal hom verlos en hom eer.
16
Met 'n lang lewe sal Ek hom versadig en hom my heil laat sien.
