An bhliain ar tháinig an tArdoifigeach go hAisdeod, arna chur uaidh ag Sargon, rí na hAsaíre, d' ionsaigh sé Aisdeod agus ghabh é.

San am sin, bhí an Tiarna tar éis labhairt trí mhinistreacht Íseáia mhic Ámóz. Dúirt sé leis: «Gabh agus scaoil an t-éadach róin atá thart ar do choim agat agus bain na cuaráin de do chosa.» Rinne sé amhlaidh agus bhí sé ag gabháil thart tarnocht agus cosnocht.

Ansin dúirt an Tiarna: «Díreach mar bhí mo sheirbhíseach Íseáia ag gabháil thart tarnocht agus cosnocht ar feadh trí bhliain, ina chomhartha agus ina mhana don Éigipt agus do Chúis,

is amhlaidh a dhéanfaidh rí na hAsaíre cimí na hÉigipte agus deoraithe Chúis a chinnireacht ar shiúl leis, idir óg agus aosta, tarnocht agus cosnocht agus másnocht.

Agus beidh eagla agus náire oraibh as Cúis, a raibh bhur muinín ann, agus as an Éigipt, a raibh sibh chomh teann sin aisti.

Agus déarfaidh muintir an chósta anseo: 'Féach ar tharla don té a raibh muinín againn ann agus a ndeachaigh muid chuige ar lorg cabhrach agus dídine ar rí na hAsaíre. Cén bealach éalaithe atá againn anois?'»
